The present Lemp Mansion Restaurant and Inn was the home of William J. Lemp, founder of Lemp Brewery. The house was built by Mr. Jacob Feickert, father of Mrs. Julia Lemp.

Three pipes running from the Brewery, down through Cherokee cave, to the house, carried water, steam and beer for the convenience of the family.
