I studied music at Strasburger's on Grand and Shenandoah where I attained first, second and third degrees. For first degree honors I played in a recital a selection from Richard Wagner's opera, "Tannheuser." I later studied at the St. Louis Conservatory of Music at Boyle and Olive. I received a post-graduate degree from the Conservatory. My recital was at the Liederkranz Hall in Grand Avenue. The selection was the Mendelssohn Concerto in C# minor on two pianos, I think. What I know is that it was thirty-three pages long. My teacher, Mr. Sacks, accompanied me. (Family history donated to the Library by the German-American Heritage Society). |
