Holy Cross Lutheran Church 

Miami Avenue (2650)
Griese & Welle of Cleveland, Ohio
 

German pioneers established this congregation in 1858.

The Gothic Revival church was built in two stages (1867 and 1889) from plans by Griese & Welle of Cleveland, Ohio.

Holy Cross (Die Kirche zum Heiligen Kreuz) became the mother church of Concordia Seminary, established in 1849, and was known as the "seminary church" until 1926, when the school moved to Clayton.
