Wearing the Unusual

Unusual clothing worn by people from around the world added variety and beauty to the Fair.

Men could be seen wearing unusual headgear, footwear and skirts.  Women's clothes might be made from simple bark, leather or gorgeous silks.  Many were adorned with intricate handiwork and detailed patterns.

A few of the foreign peoples came from places that never got cold.  When St. Louis weather got cold, fairgoers marveled that these groups still wore their native clothes as required by Fair officials.
