Over 1,000 inhabitants from Jerusalem traveled by steamer and train to St. Louis to participate in the reproduction of the Holy City at the Fair. The attraction included many of Jerusalem's Jewish, Muslim and Christian noted places.
Visitors explored over twenty streets of the walled-city as it was in 1904, stopping along the way at shops and bazaars to buy souvenirs or get their fortunes told.
Guides provided tours and told stories about churches, temples, the tower of David and the wailing wall. At the replica of the Temple of Solomon moving pictures and dissolving images brought the stories to life.
