For visitors who did not pack a lunch, there were plenty of places on the Fairgrounds to eat. They could choose from over 125 eating places, including five restaurants that each seated over 2,000 people. Or there were plenty of smaller, less fancy, restaurants.
Adventuresome fair-goers enjoyed the cuisine found at some of the foreign buildings and Pike attractions. The Chinese Village on the Pike served Chinese dishes at their two restaurants. The popular Luchow-Faust restaurant in the Tyrolean Alps served food and provided entertainment to crowds numbering 2,500 people. The Irish Village's restaurant was a popular destination for visitors.
While questioned by some, many people consider the ice cream cone, hot dog, lemonade and ice tea were introduced at the Fair.
